    Dear all,
I have had a small ploy in my garden for a few yeard but never a greenhouse / polytunnel. I am going to purchase a polytunnel in the new year and luckily due to a large garden will be able to but a largish one. Cost will make the decision for me, so - what is best - longer and narrower ( 9 foot x 25 foot ) or wider but shorter ( 12 ft x 20 foot ) any thought?
    Hope you can help, Paul

Good evening Paul and welcome to the site.:dbgrtmb: I would go with the
12ft x 20ft on account of it being 15sq ft bigger. Whereabouts in Wales are you, may I ask?

    Polytunnel

    Hi Dai,

I am over in Llandeilo. I am lucky that I have about a quarter of an acre in the back garden so my budget will run out before my space will. I was just think whether to have a tunnel that is deeper than about 9 -10 foot or whether the longer the tunnel the better. Once I have worked out the best size I will go out and but one - any suggestions? Is it better to spend a bit more and get the clear polythene or go for the cheaper plastic cover that seems to have quite thick green hatching throughout it?

    Cheer,

    Paul

Go with the clear poly Paul. What are you actually going to use the tunnel for?

Buy one from a reputable supplier. Someone like National Polytunnels. Should be a few suppliers advertising in Garden News.:dbgrtmb:

Another consideration would be that the wider tunnel is likely to be about 7" higher than the narrower one, going by the info on First Tunnels website.

Hi Paul, the best size and shape is the one that suits what you want to do with it and nothing else. If you intend to use internal benching or beds then go wide, otherwhise ther's nothing in it
