Foucault pendulum - thanks Ziggy .:dbgrtmb: I was trying to remember the name , they have one in the science museum London - suspended from the roof apex all the way down the stair well . It demonstrates the earths rotation -if you need to have it demonstrated !

Its better than when I learnt it at college, and saw the concepts proven through mathematics and hand drawn graphs.

Just found these unfortunate names on the Telegraph website. the last one from Kendal is so normal but a classic :D:dbgrtmb:

Retired airman Stan Still, 76, from Cirencester, Glocs, said his name had been “a blooming millstone around my neck my entire life”.
"When I was in the RAF my commanding officer used to shout, ‘Stan Still, get a move on’ and roll about laughing," he told the BBC.
"It got hugely boring after a while."
But 51-year-old Rose Bush, from Coventry, West Midlands, added to the broadcaster: “I always get comments about it but they are always very positive.”
Another woman, Jenny Taylor, of Kendal, Cumbria, also wrote: “Mine tops the lot. Think about it.”
