My mum, a keen gardener herself decided I should have some roses for the garden, and agreed it would be a nice birthday pressie, 36 bear rooted roses later!! omg, I did not expect that many.

I managed to get the last batch in 9 of david austins in the ground, well 4 had to be potted up as I am not ready for them, as i have decided to build a large pergola tunnel down the garden approx 60meters long ish, so will plant them after.varieties were nevada and brother cadfiel, the big ones.
She kept saying about space thats why she wanted me to have the large ones!!
The rest were mainly htS and bush, floribunda, so cant wait till they come up.
recon they will love the soil!!
most in half shade, as it get roasting hot here, but roses are good here any rate. well done mum.

Its an acid soil predominantly, the composition is fab, but will need to feed it.. however it starts gradually changing toward the middle of the field to clay, but i dont garden there its woods etc.
and further still its deffinatly changed to heavey soil right further down toward the other village.
a few of my friends got unlucky and ended up with bedrock, but they are not into gardening as i am.
soil composition was on my tick box when looking for a home here, only thing is i have to control moles, or (les taupes) which is fairly easy here any rate.

He fell off the roof last Christmas, Jack. Do keep up. He became a popular ring tone for a bit: 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!'.

      I know Clare
It was wicked of the writers to do that not only to me the listener, but to Graham Seed the actor
A well missed friend (in imagination)

They could of at least have the suspence then six months in hospital from all the damage, would have had the same impact on the listeners on old years night - is he isn't he

      Barstewards them writers
