Has any one here ever had any decent wins on the Lotto :what:
this week end there is a huge amount up for grabs , so i will invest a fiver and hope that lady luck is on my side ..
a few years ago i won just over a 100 pounds with 4 numbers, and thats the best win ive ever had since it was introduced in 1994..
so pretty dismal really , but we live in hope .. i would be off to Australia :sunny:

I've never won more than a hundred quid but I'm definitely going to win the triple rollover ... I'm such a deserving case :heehee:. I've got my eye on a lovely medieval hall house out in the Kent countryside - a snip for the newly-wealthy at just under a million.

worked at a company in south africa .... we had a lottery syndicate .... we won R22 000 (equivalent to approx £2200)

          had a few smaller wins

but since in the UK, I have not had much luck and I play them all (lottery , lottery plus 5, euro, health), and never miss a draw

I recently won £2.50 on the plus 5 (got 3 numbers)... previous to that, not 1 win the whole year!

will keep on trying, but as they say:

The rich get richer and the poor get children

I don't do the lottery, but out of interest, what makes someone decide to play it when it comes to a roll over when they may not usually bother.

I can't really see the difference between winning say 1 million or 5 million. I have neither so both would be a life changing experience. So is it just greed?

I also reckon te the Lotto organisers have it all wrong.

They shoud lower the jackpot, and raise the lesser amounts up. Say £100.00 for three numbers etc upwards.

Well since the Lottery began I have paid £2pw won three tenners, and at the very beginning £84 for four numbers nothing else

I have dropped out of two syndicates that won big the following month :-(

The first was with football pools in 1973, I could no longer afford the 8/- a week
so dropped out along with eight others leaving the poor bloke who ran it to pay the £4 himself, he won £128k (equal to £3m today)
We were in Gib at the time which only had one flight a week back to UK, As a serviceman (URK) You were not allowed to stay in the forces with that kind of money, so whilst waiting to go home
He bought us a Jackson water boiler and a years supply of tea/coffee along with a weeks wets :-)

            Second was the lottery £1.8m

Third time lucky, can we start a lottery, Then I will drop out for you, so long as I get equal shares this time :)

One good scheme for the organiser is PREMIUM BONDS (THEY ARE HELD IN HIS/HER NAME)
Again forces, and RN so not long term, you usually got six months on your shore draft
The guy charged you £1 per month for a share of the winnings whilst you were there, at the time he had been running it for about twenty years, and held about £95k in bonds bought by us and previous visitors :-)
Yes if there was a win you got your share (I never won though)
Then when he was due to retire he did not run the scheme for new joiners

On reflection I have just realised he has walked away with about £125k in premium bonds bought by others :yess:
