I am involved in our local community garden.

This is going to be a recycle garden including building a greenhouse out of 2lt plastic bottles.

That greenhouse sounds interesting - are the bottles kept intact? Reminds me of a building in Nova Scotia made of glass bottles - all laid on their sides and cemented in between them - but a great effect from the sun's rays catching the bottles! I imagine this would generate quite a bit of heat as well in a greenhouse situation. Would love to see more info!

Thats what I like to hear..a recycled garden, same as mine! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it, I have seen some photos online of recycled greenhouses made from pop bottles before...will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

Was at community garden this morning although no outdoor work as very hard frost and ground frozen.

We did get started cutting bottles and getting them on to canes for our greenhouse.

Very impressive but we need a lot of bottles.

Just wish we good get loads more handed in.

have you thought about an a request on your local freecycle site?

i am sure you would get a good response cos their ethic is to re - use where poss and what about asking some local shops if they would set up collection tubs at their shops for you or asking the scouts and brownies to collect all theirs for you, as well as nursing homes, hotels etc -after all it will be a community garden
