I've been on the site already to check standings, but after last night's party, not entered the race until I wake up properly.
No adverse effects on my Laptop so far though.

Have no idea what you are talking about Louise, but when people tell me their pc is corrupted before doing anything drastic I always recommend trying a System Restore. Good luck.

I'm talking about the Mastermind site. There are various threads in this section about it.

I sent my first post from my smart phone.

Whilst i was on that site my laptop was corrupted and all of the items like photos, favourites etc have been lost. Any items i have ever personally input have been lost.
The machine worked but there was a virus in there and it had wiped out 'me' and was inputting 'it'.

I've had a computer person in to sort it out and i'm de-virused and up and running - minus any saved/favourite sites (will never remember them all  ) aswell as 4 years of photographs.

The corruption was definately from that site though.
        You live and learn.
I'll be giving the site a miss for a while friends :(

I'm really sorry to hear that you've lost all your photos :cry3:.

With computers, and smartphones, there's always the possibility of losing all your data from viruses, the hard drive/memory breaking down or theft so it's important to regularly back up the data on some external memory. I think this was recently discussed on a thread that pete started.

It was, Shiney, when it comes to computers though i'm guilty of the "oh, i'm alright, nothing will happen" mindset. I know it's wrong :(

Hey Louise treat your self to something like this < below > ... very inexpensive and well worth the investment .. i had the same happen to me some time ago , and so i purchased a kinsgston 16 gb flash drive.. gives you peace of mind that if you ever do lose all your data and precious photos you have them safely saved .. easy to use as well .. Micky

Kingston DataTraveler 100 16GB USB Flash Drive (Black): Amazon ...

Michael, it depends on how many photos Louise has .

If she has as many as I do then that size memory won't be big enough. I use a simple external drive and my photos already take up nearly 100gb. It only takens a few minutes for my, automatic, backup programme to copy my 60,000 photos to it :D
