    Finally,

Just went down to re kindle the bonfire, stars are looking lovely, one big rock fell out of the sky:thumbsup:

No cloud cover, fingers are tingling.

Moved the Lemon, Avocado & the Chilli plants into the greenhouse.

Glasses were steamed up when I came back in. Still reading +5c in the Potato bin within the greenhouse, but recon it will be a bit colder in the morning.

It's not that cold here, Ziggy!! They're forecasting frost for this area but so far nothing. At least you've got the Green House together to give your plants some protection. As for glasses steaming up, I can remember while being in the RAF, in Norfolk, during a bad Winter, I'd been working outside all day on freezing cold aircraft. Anyway, I'd headed for the Mess after finishing work and getting to the door I opened it and the warmth of the inside hit me. There was a loud, at least to me it was:heehee:, cracking noise and both glass lenses of my JoE 90 spectacles just shattered. I was lucky as I had a spare pair and the RAF paid for a new pair.:D

2c This morning, I brought all my exotics home from work recently and put them in the greenhouse which is unheated (so far) They're not going to like another cold night so my first job today is to get the heater wired up although I'll have to check the White Board to see if I can fit it in amongst the other domestic work list.:D

Brr. Was going to head down to th'llotment to finish some winter digging today, but the fork aint going anywhere through that frost. Stay in and organise some seeds instead.

So did the mild spell trick predator insects out into the open, only to be killed by the harsh snap, and does that mean we're going to be overrun by aphids again this year?

Now't more than a light frost here so far, so everything staying outdoors huddled up in a nice south facing nook for the time being.
Exceptions are the Cantua and Tibouchina which are in the garage, and one of my blue Sollya is a bit more exposed than the other to see how far they can go.

Icy here now. Its been just sub zero since about sunset. Just been out to look. Everything is sparkly, except the nasturtium, which as predicted is now doing its boiled cabbage impression. The ground is rock hard at the surface.

Pretty normal for the time of year, which in itself is unusual for this winter so far.

I wonder what it means for the spring bulbs that have been showing green growth for the past few weeks. I wonder if they'll still flower this year.

I had to scrape the ice off the car when I went out at 7.30 p.m. and again before I came home close to midnight. It was -3C when I got home - but not indoors :heehee:

Clueless, they should still flower with no trouble. :dbgrtmb:
