Scholes (born here) & Giggs (lived his entire life in Salford)

Can't think of many more who are more famous than the 3 above..

Many of the Corrie cast are from Salford, too.

Then footballers Phil Bardsley (Sunderland) and Danny Simpson (Newcastle)

He was a school teacher here (lived about 2 minutes from my house, actually) and he was sleeping with pupils.. and only got caught because one of the girls found him in bed with the other.. think they were both 14.

I used to bump into top TV chief Keith Floyd in the pub fairly regularly - seemed to be a decent chap although had a bit of a temper after a few. Remember him turning up on one of the daytime cookery programs & plugging our local butcher which was very nice of him.

 

I do believe we have Paul O'Grady and Julian Clary living somewhere near here. Also (more impressively) Paul McCartney. I couldn't point out their houses, though!
