I've just heard on the BBC news, and I quote:

    "The big freeze is coming".

It must be bad. If it was just winter weather, it would have just been in the normal weather forecast part, but it was in the main news part so it must be serious. Its not winter, its a big freeze.

This is what we can look forward to:

Make it quick, and remember then to stay out of the way of Black Frost while you're out. (Search youtube for 'mighty boosh black frost' - I'd have linked to it but the scene has two naughty words in it).

        Really hope they are wrong,cos,
In the autumn my son said.....gonna be a hard winter this year.
I said why do you think that.
He replied, the bushes are covered with berries.
I replied Gerroff, thats an old wives tale, and a load of rubbish as plants dont have brains.....or fellow plant weather forecasters.

so far in Bedfordshire, the worst weve had is minus 1,so come spring,id like to say........Told you so

We saw the white stuff here today. Up on the hills there was enough to lay, but not enough yet for sledging.

Ah yes, the age old question. I've asked myself this many times when, for example, crossing a field full of horses or cattle that suddenly decide they would rather I was not there:loll:

I guess, as always, it boils down to that all too familiar question we occasionally have to ask ourselves. Can we run fast enough to escape to certain safety, or are we better off with the possible safety of the tree?
