Would appreciate advice on this plant.

I bought it last spring it was in bud and flowered beautifully.

Later on, it produced more buds during late spring and autumn. I thought I was in for another good show but these buds are still in the same state.

I assume that they are done for and should be removed but when to do this? We have started the first frosts of the year, is now too late or should I wait until spring. It is in a large pot with the correct soil.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

Rhododendrons produce buds in later summer for the next spring flowering, so you shouldn't remove them.

Let them flower and then deadhead by pinching out the dead flowers (see here for instructions) :dbgrtmb:

Well thanks, you stopped me making a silly mistake. I am a newbie to gardening and restricted to pots. Last year the weather was so awful, very little went to plan!

The left plant is a Rhododendron (pic taken last week)
It's in its Winter - I'm sad - mode, but shows the buds formed, that produce a wonderful Pink display in late Spring.

Just to confirm what has already been advised.

Thanks for the pic, very reassuring. I am so glad I asked first!
