Just popped into my local Wilkinson store and saw that their seeds seem to be a very good price. Plus they have them at either 3 for £1.50 or 3 for £2.50.

Some are only 52p per pack, but some are £1.23 in the 3 for £1.50 offer.

This is my first year of growing veg so I'll not be wasting too much money when my crops fail.

This is what I picked up.

Broad bean - bunyards exhibition 97p
    Leek - musselburge 52p
Swede - best of all 52p
    Parsnip - white gem 97p
    Carrot - autumn king 2 52p
Broccoli - autumn green calabrese 97p

Total was £3.00. Which I thought was pretty good.

I also have all my Van Meuwen seeds from the Mails 2008 give away.

You won't be wasting your money BB. I've used Wilcos seeds for a number of years, they are as good as any I've found and much cheaper. I will be getting my onion sets and potato seed from them as well soon. Their plant labels and fertilizer are also very good value.

Of course the real reason I go to Wilcos is for the pick & mix, now that Woolies have gone it's the only place on the high street for cheap sweets :lollol:

I also get a fair ammount of seeds from Wilcos and labels, canes, tom feed, twine, Vermiculite and g/house shading whitewash. All very good value and much cheaper than a garden center. Go at the end of the season they sell off their seeds at ridiculous prices. Last autumn I got £50 worth of seed for around £12 I think it was (75% off!).

    Steve...:)

This thread reminded me that I need to get my seed potatoes so I called in to Wilkos on the way home. I got 6 big packs of onion & shallot sets for £1.27 each, 3Kg of Rocket seed spuds for £2.98 and some garlic and horseradish for £1.98 each. I was so pleased I completely forgot about the pick & mix or Jelly Beans!
