Hi all im new here, im trying to identify a shrub, it has dark green foliage and long pink flowers that has a really strong smell almost like cat urine, apart from the smell (yuk) its a really nice shrub, ive searched the net but cant find any pictures of it and my mum and I are racking our brains to remember what it is. Ooh, Jiffy, flower description is wrong for a Viburnum which I have and are native here, hence me going with Escallonia.

I'll second the Ribes Lolimac. :)

Victoria I've not come across a bad smelling Escallonia. I also have 80ft of Escallonia hedging which is a lovely sweet perfume. :)

It didn't occur to me that it could be Ribes but I think that lolimac and Sheal are right. I've got one in a giant red chinese pot. It has red or pink flowers that hang down and do smell of moggies.:heehee::heehee::D:kittykiss::kittykiss:
