Since the beginning of this month Feb, many mainly second page of three page forums fail to load server not found ?

Have you reduced bandwidth, or has your supplier subterfugley reduced band width of your site ?

Definately running slower, not my end as 120mb and other sites exceptionally fast

Can't say I've noticed a problem here ... possible routing problem via your ISP do you think Jack ?

I've noticed intermittent outages recently too. At first I was blaming my router, which I know plays up, but as it became frequent I've immediately tried other sites during the GC delays, and all has usually been fine at the other sites.

Jack, what browser are you using? I ask because Google released an update to chrome around the beginning of the month that bust many of our apps at work. It took us a while to track it down but it turned out Chrome was the problem.

IE9 but I have had this since release no problem, just this current month and mainly if viewing page two of forums with three posts, occasionaly new posts

I do not believe it is finance as since my and the site operators fix contributions have actually increased,
Though myself I have always paid into it just never showed before

As a user and an interest in IT you get nothing for nothing I have always chucked in a few pounds a month or occasionally the full required amount

I like the site and the last thing I would want was it to die for lack of contributions, thus my sometimes rude posts pointing people to the support link :-)
I run a couple of sites myself, and know what it costs both in time and finance

Clueless I will PM you with my latest failure, Where I was robbed

There have been previous reports of there being a link to Page-N but actually there is not yet a post on that page, the previous page is exactly full.

I don't suppose that caused an error like "Server not Found", but it sounds a bit like what HarryS is describing. Dunno if that problem was Found & Fixed, or not.

Out here in rural Cumbria I'm on a 2mb connection at best, and have not experienced a problem at all. I visit, browse and read this site at all times of the day, sometimes I will have more than one window open too. I use IE9 as browser.

I dont know if it makes a difference But I have set in my edit options to view 40 posts per page, so very seldom have to go to a second page.

      Steve...:)

I have not experienced any problems either Jack & like Steve I view 40 posts per page & like Steve says often you don't need to go to the next page then..
We have experienced some problems, which have been sorted, but not the sort you are talking about...

I've noticed my internet speed has been down over the past couple of weeks. Apart from slow loading of some pages I'm finding that when trying to stream videos on the BBC news site I get a lot of buffering delays and then a message pops up to tell me my internet speed is too low to stream video.
According to the tests I've done, BT - my ISP say I should expect to get 7.0 to 8.0 Mbps BUT I'm only getting around 336Kbps.
The fact that Jack over in Fife seems to be experiencing a similar problem makes me wonder if there's a problem with the pipe going south or a fault in one of the exchanges en-route south.

As an internet ignoramus I'm not sure I understand what the problem is  but I occasionally have issues.

I'm on IE9 and get 20 posts per page. Very occasionally when I click on another page it isn't found, but I just click the back button and try again and it works

A bit off topic but related. BT sent me a new router/home hub about a year ago and, being an ignoramus, I never bothered to fit it (although they said it would speed up my connection). Yesterday, when a cousin was here, we got around to doing it. I now, apparently, have wifi - (not necessary as I only have a desktop) - but my cousin was able to use his iPad. I have a Broadband phone that was part of the original broadband package. One of the cables from that phone now seems to be redundant .
They were correct about increasing the speed. It has gone up from 2 to 2.5mb.

Only problem I have seen is a post (in "for sale") that seemed not to be there, everything else ok.
