I've just searched ebay for used plant pots, with a bit of search refining I found this seller on your doorstep selling 2000 pots for £12 (although I’m not sure that 10.5cm equal’s 1 litre exactly)
10.5 cm plastic plant pots used large quantities | eBay

If the size isn’t right this ebayer is selling different sizes of used pots in bulk, might be worth contacting them to see if they will do you a deal for your requirements:

I've started sorting out the dozens of black dustbin liners full of pots that people bring us and should be able to reduce the amount to only a few bags. Unfortunately they don't clean them before dropping them off here so are full of soil, leaves, snails etc :(

Whilst sorting them I've found them very difficult to arrange in size order. Some are measured in volume, others in inches or cms and some in code numbers. I think I've worked out that 9F equals 3.5"

Volume and diameter can't be equated as the volume depends on the height of the pot. I have some 5" pots that are 1L, 2L and 3L as the heights are so different.

It takes quite a while cleaning out old plant pots, the worst thing is trying to stack them up afterwards when you have so many odd sizes, yet many are very similar in volume terms :rolleyespink:

Is it just me, or is Steve a bit of a genius here? Lots of clever solutions!

Kristen, if the compost is slightly moist, which it will be, then it wouldn't collapse after removing a template unless you knock the hadopot. If you're worried about the rigisity then make up a box to surround the hadopot while filling.

And I am loving that chip scoop!

EDIT - Another thought - why not ask Hadopots how they do it? From their website they do thousands...

Thank you, that's very kind of you! But I think John is the real genius here finding the used pots for sale, as it's pots that Kristen wants.

I think as gardeners we all look at ways to solve certain issues and this is why GC is so strong as it's a collection of ideas from many gardeners and their different viewpoint on things.

          Steve...:)

Hi, I just ordered a carton of one litre pots from Hsmith plastics.
There are 915 pots in a carton and the price is £53 give or take a few pence. This works out at around 5.5 pence a pots. www.hsmithplastics.co.uk

Cheers Mrs Chooper. Good to see you around. Have been very busy and not had time to chase this task through, but I will need to get it sorted soon. I'll report back with what I find.
