Spent the day at Blashford Lakes near Ringwood Hampshire, The dissused gravel pits are now 7 lakes managed by the Hampshire Widlife Trust.
Most of the wild fowl are a long way off so most of the more visible bird life is round the many feeders.
Fewer Siskins and Redpolls this year and hardly any Bramblings.

Spot the Bittern, very elusive master of camouflage and several returns to the hide before this one partly showed itself.

I am lucky enough to get redpolls in my garden when there is a frost, spotted the elusive bittern hidden in the reeds.

There were two Bitterns and saw them at different times. First was the head, later, the second was just part of the body, nothing as clear as our first visit a couple of years ago.
