pheasant?

    this has appeared in our back garden this morning, from a quick google seems it is a pheasant but i have no idea how it ended up in a built up area back garden!

    Yep that's a Pheasant. They get everywhere. Nice bit of free lunch if you get it in time :blue thumb:

    he has flown next door now but is it normal in a built up area in a major city?

    i am in Birmingham. not a common site here i dont think!

    Obviously not as common there but still a few about. Have wings will travel!

    lol, true.

    i just hope it comes back now.

    maybe he was hoping the chickens would share their feed but they have a mesh roof so thats not an option to wildbirds

    shooting season is over now isnt it?

    if it doesnt fly away the cats will probably chase it away anyway

    If it's on your property you can kill it whether in season or not. The minute it leaves your garden though all bets are off.
