Don't you think that as far as fish go, dog fish are very handsome beasties. That wouldn't stop me eating it though.

I didn't know dog fish and rock salmon were one and the same. That means I have eaten dog fish then I guess.

Probably. Grannies general knew what they were eating. They just had their priorities right. Far too much to worry about without being unduly fussy about what they were eating. Don't forget, they used to enjoy things like chittlings, and beef dripping on bread.

Umm Ummm I remember bread & dripping..!! We used to put salt & pepper on it too.. A piece of that & a slice of fruit cake was a meal in itself.. We used to have a dripping pot very similar to this, although I don't remember any writing on it.... [IMG]

There is a chippy in Barnard Castle
Still fries in beef dripping and still has a coal fired range

          Delicious
Used to like the beef dripping on bread on Sunday evenings, after the Beef roast Dinner at lunch time

You'll be a Beef Man then Jack.

Can picture you sitting down to a Girt Pie with Horns sticking out of it.
