Last lot of IDs before tomorrow

hi, i have just checked on my camera and found a few more plants i said i would find out for the lady i am gardening for tomorrow. If anyone can quickly id them for me i would be very grateful!

The first one one shows a whitish/blue growth on the stems. We wondered if this was decorative or some sort of fungal growth. I had guessed at some sort of scale infestation but not sure. The last one is a long shot, I realise. Any input welcome! Thanks again.

The white growth on the Azalea is lichen, usually a sign of clean air. It won't do the plant any harm.
I wish I knew what number 4 is, looks very grass like, was the photo taken recently?

 

Ah, my husband thought it was lichen. Glad it's harmless. I think it looks rather nice with the foliage coming out above it.

Yes, the photos were taken just last week. It was next to the daylilies.

 

Agree with JackoFish on nos. 1,3 and 5.
Not sure about no. 2 though, think it might be a Juniper.
No.4 does look grass like, possibly Stipa gigantea?

 

I reckon it could Kniphofia, the Red Hot Poker, it looks quite healthy for this time of year, maybe it's just growing in a good place!

Twig, has No.4 got a razor type edge to the leaves? I'm wondering if it's a young Pampas. If it is I'd remove it from it's site next to the wall.

 

Hi Sheal, No 4 was very soft foliage, no razor type edge. I shall have another check when i go in the morning to make sure though.

 

Could 4 be some allium?
I haven't grown them for a full year so far, so I don't know whether the tuft would be as big as that in March, but the leaves look to me soft, tubular and hollow inside. Probably a zoom-in picture will make it clear.

Hi, I forgot to take a photo but the leaves are fairly soft, not tubular but like a ^ shape. We decided it would be interesting just to wait and see anyway.

I also have to identify several more plants in her garden but I will start a new thread for that!
