Woo, the lutea variety of this rose has become an obsession with me. For two times already, when I order (through the forum), it happens to be out of stock.
Such a gorgeous, massive and long living climber - thank you!

Thanks, Woo, thanks a lot! Actually, I have received some stems from a florist, without knowing the variety. And I also received some greenish-pink ones. The dead flowers looked like peonies. :rolleyespink:
The name he provided later was spelled 'Plano', while google hits said 'Piano'.

I'd really love to have them rooted (though the starting material was of very poor quality).

Now that you have provided me with the name, I will know what to buy if the cuttings don't make it! :dbgrtmb:

And where is the "Thank you" button?!! :love30:

Apparently it should have disappeared, when they introduced the 'likes' button last year!

Testing, too, but happy to share...
I've just ordered my Banksia Lutea Rose from this site.
Shipment costs will be shared with other members on the Bulgarian forum. Hope it's not sold out! :blue thumb:

Well, the pink one is probably Abraham Darby. :WINK1:

Wooo, I really need your help now. :help: Do you know whether David Austin roses are grafted? Today, I moved several roses (to group them by colour:biggrin: ) and it all went well until I decided to move Falstaff (in the picture below). I worked around the roots with a spade and at the point they felt pretty loose in the soil I grabbed the stem of the rose in an attempt to 'pluck it out'. And, most surprisingly, the stem broke at the base. So, I probably ended up by transplanting the rootstock (damn!:wallbanging: ). I'll make what's left of the stems into cuttings, it's a great time of year for planting them, but if the rose was grown from its own root, there is a chance that it will regrow.
If not... let's hope that the rootstock is alive, I'll try to graft another rose on it. :)

Hi Angelina as far as I am aware the answer is yes,he usually uses the rootstock of the Climber Dr. Huey,I have read somewhere that he now sells own root roses which are not grafted on to rootstock.,I would leave the rootstock in and you may well be pleasantly surprised my friend.:)

Thank you so much, Woo! I just googled 'Climber Dr. Huey' and it's a breathtaking beauty!
And I must admit that I moved quite a big and healthy root, planted with a lavish quantity of cow and rabbit manure and watered. Now I just pray that it grows and I really feel twice as excited! :wub2:
