Frost bitten?

    Hi could anyone tell me plz if my diacsias have been caught by the frost as I dnt kno why they have gone like this all the rest of greenhouse seem fine even the seedlings I have been growing are fine.
    Any help would be great thanks

    Hi Natty
    the soil looks sodden in the picture. Diascias like free drainage.
    Either they have rotted at the root, or there may be a bug under the soil.
    They don't look well.

    I thought they looked like they had too much water too.

    Did they come in pots that size, or have you potted them on into bigger pots?

    If potted-on then they (now) have more compost for the plant than before, so are not yet able to "drink" all the available water, so have to be careful to water somewhat frugally until the plants are bigger and their roots are filling the new compost enough to drink more :)

    This is the general purpose behind potting on in small steps, rather than moving a plant straight into a large pot.

    If it came in that pot, and maybe was a bigger plant before it "got sick", then it could still be over watering, but could also be something attacking the plant, or possibly cold.

    Hi thanks for the replys. Yes i know they do look sodden but the reason was because i was going away for couple of days and gave them all a good watering before i went.
    Will they make a comeback or shall i just get rid of them now as currently they are sitting on my windowsill looking very sorry for themselves.
