:dancy: started the day with email saying yes please to roof tiles on freecycle in hope that i would get them,
collected daughter and grandson and went shopping then met up with the wonderful person "westwales" and recieved more than 80 plant pots:ThankYou: from them,
on return journey home get a phone call saying the roof tiles are yours if you can take them today, drop off daughter and grandson collect son-in- law off we go to get tiles
(Only given street name and told its the bungalow with the skip on the drive ) ARRIVE IN STREET 3 SKIPS :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

stop at first skip no tiles to be seen but bungalow has new looking roof.
Knock door and briefly explain he says Ah no that is .... at the other end of the street never one to miss a trick i say you have been busy pointing to new fencing and cement mixer on drive, he says yes new fence wife didnt like the old one and we are having the a new slate patio :ideaIPB::ideaIPB: wife didnt like the slabs, the skip is full of rubble and very neatly stacked slabs with 3 Ton bags of rubble and rubbish next to it so another 10 mins of talking, i have got this man offering me the 50 full slabs and the half ones if i want them, i tell him i would love to but i must come back later as i still have the roof tiles to collect,
we go and collect the tiles a few more then we expected he said 100 there was 189 of them .... 3 car loads later we come back for the slabs, by which time there is now all the old fencing and post there too he says that the builder had offered to take it away and burn but if i could actually reuse it then he would prefere to see me take it :hapfeet:

10 car loads and 7 hours later i return my son in law, my car is stinking again, my garage in full as is my garden and i am delighted ...:yahoo:

oh and a few days ago i was passing a garage being taken down and i asked for the box roofing sheets they asked why i said i wanted to make a shed up the plot they said yes and not only did they clean them off for me they cut them into 6' length too so they would fit in my car

    my poor husband face :yikes:

I'm so jealous! Well done :dbgrtmb:

Paving slabs seem to go for almost a pound each on ebay at the moment. So you've saved yourself a lot of money. I'd ebay the ones you don't need, if any

Don't forget to look out for planning notices for side extensions where there's a carport with timber construction and polycarbonate sheet roof or rear extensions where there's timber decking, etc., then you can get in there first with your request before anything's smashed up/taken away.

                              thanks guys :grphg:

Forgot to mention that they also gave the garden gate too with all the brass furniture intact Bonus popped down to collect that this am then

spend a few hours pulling nails from the shiplap fencing, i am delighted to say that there are only two bits of wood that i can not re use:yes:

i have enough shiplap to make two sheds 6' X4' so one for my daughter and one for mother in law, shall use some of the slabs as bases

and will still have roof sheets, tiles, slabs, posts and some decking left over

plan on asking local window company to drop of some windows that they have taken out as some one at the plot has done and the guy was only to happy not to have to pay disposal costs !
