    Hi all,

do you have a favourite book on propagation?

I'm thinking of getting the RHS one 'Propagating Plants' but does anyone have one they think is better?

If your looking for a general all rounder in propagation then you can't go far wrong with any of the RHS books but this is the one I use which I picked up from a charity shop for a couple of quid

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Propagation...9031/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1334776370&sr=8-3

you can get it used for £2.80 and the 3 used sellers items are fulfilled by amazon (means Amazon already have the sellers books in their warehouse) so you know you can trust them :WINK1:

Brilliant all round book I think there's a newer edition out but I couldn't really see any new information in it just a different cover and layout

      Hi Aesculus,

i was looking at the more recent Alan Toogood RHS propagation book. If there is not much difference then will prob go for the cheaper, older version. Especially as I can get it spiral bound - which is handy when you are actually referring to it in the workplace,

      thanks,

      Emily

The spiral bound one is the old, old edition and isn't as good as the 1990's edition as that was the major update:blue thumb:

I too got mine from Amazon 0.01p and £2.80 post, arrived next morning, brand new condition, only ten years old
The only difference apart from the cover, was no mention of Air pots
Same with the RHS Enclylopedia of Gardening, only difference was no mention of DECKING :-)

It is amazing how plants have not moved onto the 21st Century and still grow as they did in 1868 :-)

and to get over that all you have to do is watch this:

only thing to remember is that the above is an advert and they might be good but the way woman doing the voice over is harping on about it you'd think it was the 8th wonder of the world...
