So for a standard Scotkat , I can use any bush type fuchsia ? And as Joolz asked the three leaf are better - is a three leaf by type of fuchsia or just random ?

Will have a look in Morrisons on the way home to see if they have a Heidi Ann (just on the off chance).

You've inspired me to want to take cuttings now but a) is it too late now? and b) how tall do the Fuchsias have to be before cuttings can be taken? (they are only ickle at the moment) :)

I have just bought thefuchsia called Lady in red and away to take many tip cuttings of it.
So if anyone would like me to grow on a cutting for them pm me.

When you get your new fuchsia normally on the stem I pinch out at the 3rd pair of leaves.

So you can get many tip cuttings .

And to get a good shape turn a quarterturn every day.

Able to leave mine out now (in a sheltered, protected spot) and the Blueberry Fizz will be going out tomorrow. It's warming up here,

Mine have been out for a while now - "David", "Blackie", "Koralle" (a triphylla type) and F.thallia are all in bud.

Best of all, F.perscandens has survived!

Clearly only just, but it is alive!
