And Dai has gone awol again. Pete hasn't posted much and Woo obviously doesn't feel up to it (hope you're doing ok, Woo). So that leaves a big hole in things. Hopefully Chopper will come along soon with his 'blood brothers' and stir everyone up. Wonder how the watchtowers with automatic shrapnel fire are coming along?

I'm a complete numpty computerwise, so to be honest, if the site was 'running slow' I doubt I'd notice. My main 'beefs' are the type a reply, hit 'More Options' - wait, then hit 'Preview' - wait, then hit 'Reply to Thread' and .... oh, wait. What's up with just a normal 'preview' button? And why, oh why, this huge new 'in-your-face' default font size? - if I can spot a weed at a 100 paces I can certainly read text half the size at a distance of 18" without a struggle - I may be a bit daft, but I don't need a 'word of one syllable' point size.

Is the forum itself is less active, or are the things which are of interest to me, just not being talked about at the moment? Discuss! :heehee:

I think it's quite probable that when the weather improves/gets worse/stays the same and things grow/don't grow as we feel they should, then we might see increased activity.

In the meantime - despite Channel 4's 'let's all hug a fox' week, I'm off to dose up my poor cat who was attacked by one last Tuesday :gaah:

I use fire fox, and as Marley Farley said, keep the pc clean (I have a soft cloth for that ) and I don't have any loading problems.

I'm tending to spend less time on forums as a whole these days. Lack of time being the main reason for that. Being unable to get either the forum spell checker, or our own tool bar spell checker to work isn't helping matters. I'm also finding that the forum has way too many 'stickie' threads.

I must admit to not posting much lately.
Lets face it I've never been that good at starting threads, well interesting ones any way.

I dont find any real problems with the new software, main one being the error message that I sometimes get after pushing reply button, "server busy try again", then when you try again you get a double post."
But then on the old software I used to actually lose my post and have to rewrite it.

I'm thinking its mainly quiet because we are in effect back into winter, 10C here overcast with dampness in the air, been like it most of the week.
Nothings growing, not even in the greenhouse, usually I'm putting things outside due to the new growth becoming a problem in the greenhouses, but things have just not really moved yet, April being the usual month for the growth surge.

Its all a bit depressing at the moment, grass is growing like crazy, but too wet to cut, most of the veg has gone dormant, and the half-hardys are not looking too impressive right now.
Oh and the ground is too wet.

If it was Spring I wouldn't be sitting here writing this at this time of the day.

Oh and just to add, I never read sticky threads.
I only read whats new? so if its sticky I'm not likely to see it.

I may well be guilty of a "stickie thread" Eddie but to be honest , I wouldn't know one if it jumped up and bit me. Can you please enlighten me?
          thank you,

Jenny a stickie is the posts at the top of the section with a red pin next to them . They always stick at the top . I did read one once by mistake :snork:

I'm with you on that Eddie :blue thumb: The general gardening section has 10 stickies . Do we really need so many ? They do confuse newbies , when you have to page down twice to get to the first "New" post. Also while I am on my soapbox do we need so many sections - 53 I counted , that is more than the books in the old and new testaments . Could these be condensed a tad

Me too Fidgetsmum. I have never known it like this. Have the MODS got a bug infestation and are not telling us - so as not to spread panic amongst the lower ranks?. Are we all doomed:paladin:

As I understand things, it's the Mods or Admins who decide as to what should be sticky or not, and there are rules that state you must not criticise their actions, so I guess the membership voting off stickies may not be possible.
