what I saw in the part 2

    The flowers look like lilac but not the leaves - and no scent. Also in mauvy pink DSC_1932.JPG .

    You are correct it is a Syringa sp. .. Lilac.

    Just a very different one to Syringa vulgaris which is very common here.

    Thanks again Silver surfer,

    May I ask you another question? The unimproved, semi-wild lilac in Brussels and - at least in some parts of the UK (Bristol for example) - is pinkish . Where I come from, Sweden, it's pale blue. Or one could say the difference is between pinkish mauve and bluish mauve. The blue is a lot prettier so I wonder of this is due to different varieties, or to the soil, acid/alkaline? As for Hydrangeas for example?
