    Just thought some of you may like to see my back garden and see how its laid out, I know I would love acres but you have to make the best out of what you have and that's what I continually strive to do with our little piece of land :)

    The Patio Looking at the "Blow-Aways" (although they've not budged lol);

    Everything in my garden is being done on a budget, so it is always work in progress and will take time to get it where I want it to be (its in its third year now after we moved in 2008/09), eventually I want more cover on the fences and trees around the outside for more shelter and privacy, I'll get there one day...:dbgrtmb:

      looking good. For me its also an inspiration, because I too am trying to do the back garden on a budget. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with creative flair, so while I have no problem doing the work, I need people like you to show us their pics so I can pinch ideas:)

        That is a great layout Bilbo, so neat and tidy too, well done! It makes it so much more difficult keeping things nice when you have little ones to 'help' I admire you for that.
        Is that a green roof in the last photo too?

          Hi John, its sort if a self sown 'green roof', the little sedums (if that's what they are?) have been there since we moved in, they have little yellow flowers on. Its the same roof that I've spread some wildflower seed on and is germinating freely; although you can't see them in the photo..:blue thumb:

              Great! Yes I think they must be sedums, probably Sedum Acre aka Stonecrop :dbgrtmb:

                I'm hoping its 'Biting Stonecrop', just because it looks ace in my book of native British wildflowers, but I've never seen it in real life, or in someone's garden:)

                  Oh I've not heard of 'Biting Stonecrop' before, just googled it and apparently it's another name for 'Sedum Acre'? Well it grows like mad in my dry soil down here, in fact a bit rampant, I try and confine it to crevices in walls otherwise it will take over a flower bed very quickly.

                      Good morning Bilbo,
                      yours is the first thread I have seen today and it is so lovely. I like all the different sections that make it seem like there are many gardens. It is a credit to youand I do appreciate the invitation to view,

                            Love what you've done,

                            Definately gonna steal the 'box in landing area for the slide' idea:blue thumb:
                            Just out of interest, how big is your plot over all. Mine is 10mx 9m- so it would be good to know.

                              Hi, I've just been and roughly worked out the size using the flags on the patio; it works out at 15-16m x 6-7m, this is the size of the garden as whole that you can see from the 'aerial' photo. There is also another smaller area down the side of the house (behind the conifer hedge) that is just concrete and is used by the kids playing on their cars and they have a sand pit round there and their own little shed with their bikes and toys in...:dbgrtmb:
