What jobs are we doing today in the garden ?

Just about to go and dig up some dwarf rhodos from the front border. I am rearranging them all - there are 20 odd, some of which will have a new border dug especially for them.

 

Today i need to go and get some more compost....then i really must pot on toms and cues...sow more lettuce and sp.onions and marrows....
Then i need to spend the rest of the day praying for my pumpkins:WINK1:

 

Done one border - dug up 9 rhodos, planted out 8. Some went into planters, there are 7 to go in another border when I've dug it and two indoor azaleas, which have been living outside, as yet undecided where to go.

 

paid a visit to my very 1st garden that I landscaped 3 years ago .... new shrubs and perennials are to be added in the gaps to add colour, so I am chuffed .... lawn needs a bit of work aswell (this was a new build 3 yrs ago, and I also seeded the lawn ... there were a few shrubs and a cherry tree etc which we kept) ... trampoline looks good (at the back right hand side) .... a huge pit was dug and the trampoline was installed flush with the lawn and side bars/netting removed

 

That trampoline idea is great. I know children love them but they are eyesores and I'm not convinced about the safety aspects. How did you deal with the pit once it was dug to make sure that's safe and doesn't fill with wet gunk?

 

it does not fill with gunk, however it fills with water when it's wet (like now) .... water is about 1/2 full ... the owner has a pump, but he never bothers

this was done 3 years ago ... we could not get a digger in, so we dug by hand .... hole is about 5 feet deep and we never botherd to line the pit

by mid june, the water drains away and there is no water ... even with the water, the kids can still jump and it does not look an eyesore with the frame and side frame

if i were to do it again (and the clients have a larger budget, I would recomend a drain with a liner ... but that depends on the area and the water level)

 

Looks great Dim....one of my pet hates are trampolines but love the sunken idea

fat controller, I'm glad it's not just my seedlings that are soooooo slow. The petunias are about 1" tall still, despite sowing them ages ago. If I made up a hanging basket now, it would look very pathetic, lol

Fat Controller, my own seeds Ive grown from T&M are bigger than the plug plants I bought from them too.
Your seedling collection puts mine to shame, I just have a few on the bedroom windowsill.
When does everyone plan on putting their hanging baskets and petunias out?
I filled my baskets with plug pants and put mine out a few days ago and they seem to be doing ok. It's warm here in Manchester today and got some sun too.

 

Mowing lawns whilst I can! So much rain, reasonably mild temperature, so the grass is going wild.
Just got 2 ton of bark chippings delivered, so guess what I'll be doing for a while later?

logged back on did reply for 2nd time
and now I'm heading back to the garden to sort out some very very crammed lillies.
