After a busy morning cutting Father-in Law's huge Privet hedge, we decided to treat ourselves to a ramble through the gently rolling countryside north of Ipswich this afternoon.
Weather was a bit dull, but the lovely spring colours made up for it.

The Rape fields are in full flower right now:

Coddenham churchyard, the buttercups stand out in the lush green grass, while the old gravestone and red brick wall have seen many springs come and go.

The view, yesterday, from my back garden across to the next village. It was sunny here in Shineyland but the villages around us were under clouds.

          Good shots Shiney! :dbgrtmb:
I know Rape fields aren't to everybody's liking, but I don't mind them a bit. To me, they provide a great splash of colour in the countryside in spring.
This year in particular, they're really helping to brighten up the relentlessly dull days we've been getting for the past couple of weeks.

Stunning shots. Have you ever thought about maybe adding filters or editing them. You could bring out more of colours you've captured.

Nice shot. Shame about the smell (of the rape fields, I mean). I've heard it described rather optimistically as 'honey'; to me it's more like a tramp who hasn't bathed for several decades.

Thanks for the comments, Sandy. Back in the old days of print cameras I used to use filters on my SLR but since going over to digital I've become very lazy. I have a bridge camera so no filters and I can't be bothered with playing around with editing - too many other things to do.
