Any ideas where to get cheap and compact poly tunnels?

I've only got a small garden and want to plant some cabbage for the first time. I'm also not into spending huge amounts of money on unecessary garden gadgetry, but I don't want the bloody pigeons eating my cabbages! Anybody know a good place to get some poly tunnels, nothing posh and I really don't want to spend very much at all.

 

Could you construct something out of 1" blue water-pipe hooped over and netted. Something like this (At one of our cummunity plots)

I have scaffolders Debris netting (cheap enough to buy, but you can blag it from a building site as they chuck it after a job, usually) and some water pipe hoops. Debris netting is small enough aperture to keep Cabbage White Butterfly out, as well as pigeons.

....i did that too...i used enviromesh....but much cheaper option...net curtains

 

I got enviromesh from ebay 4.2m x 1.5 for £9.50 delivered, i use this for carrotts and on the advice of Kristen when i posted a question about netting cabbage I am using debris netting which my father in law got from a skip at work.

gee thanks guys that's great advice thank you! so refreshing to see some recycling going on, makes a change from that expensive looking stuff they advertise in gardening magazines. Will post some pics when I get it set up
