Good morning everyone and hope that you have had a good weekend:smile:

Moyra,I do hope you don't overdo the heavy lifting with the furniture and I admire you for having a go as I often help Mr Kandy with lifting heavy stuff but I could never do it on my own as I am just not strong enough but at least now you have managed to nearly finish another room so it will all look good in the end:blue thumb: I see what you mean about the weed and feed and you are correct that if you get in on early enough so that it starts to work before you water then it starts working straight away.As we are going to have a good week with the weather we shall try and get ours done but can't put the stuff down until four days after cutting the lawns:snork:

Loli,we were out walking yesterday so missed the start of the Chelsea programme but I did like the garden with the thatched roof building that Chris Beardshaw was talking about although I do hope it gets a medal when the judges come round:smile: I am looking forward to seeing the Caravan Club garden especially if one of our members have been working on it.Mr Kandys cousin and her hubby have free tickets so are away with their outfit so they don't have far to travel to see the show:biggrin:

Shiney,I should think you will be glad for a holiday after all the hard work you have put in your garden over the last year and i think this year the weather will be kind to you all.Our Aqualigers have been in flower for about three weeks now and are starting to look their best now that we have had a drop of the wet stuff:snork:

I do hope that Penny,Woo,Jenny and everyone are all keeping well and enjoying their gardens:smile:

      Good morning everyone,

Moyra, you seem to be getting on very well with your decorating :dbgrtmb: but please be careful with the furniture moving.

Kandy, our Aquilegias are only just opening (in the shady areas they haven't started yet) but I hope that the warm sun that is forecast for the week will get them going. They have definitely grown higher this year with a lot of them over 4ft and a very few are approaching 5ft high :hate-shocked:.

It's dull and windy at the moment but the forecast says it will brighten up from lunchtime. I hope the wind drops as we are supposed to be having a corrugatted plastic roof put on the pergola and we need it ready for Open Day as the book stall will be under it.

The list of members coming has gone up again with Nathan (Webmaster) telling me yesterday and Folly Mon this morning.

Keep well and have a great day

      Good morning everyone,
I enjoyed watching the Chelsea flower show....not sure about the 'fresh' gardens though,i may change my mind by the end of the week.....
It's another chilly morning here 10 degrees ...but expecting 20 by thursday...fingers crossed....
I've a mountain of washing to do and the house work has been a bit neglected too....so that and helping my mum will keep me out of mischief untill i'm back at work at the weekend....
      Wishing everyone well,take care:SUNsmile:

Bedroom is finished all but the white gloss door frame and skirting board!

My first tobacco plants 6 of them went to a new home. A little lad that I knew from when he was 12 and now he tells me he is 50 next month. Tall strapping chap works on the Tilbury Docks now. Where do the years go? He was my daughter's first boyfriend.

Hope you are all enjoying this lovely weather! (Still need rain for my grass Feed and Weed)!:)

        Hi all...
Strong earthquake last night, about 3 am Bulgarian time. Several stronger shakes, thereafter. We barely slept a wink. The epicentre is about 7 kilometres away from where we live.

Let's hope there's none of that ahead.

        Good morning everyone,

        Earthquake!!!! :hate-shocked:

I typed out a post on this thread yesterday and then the computer froze . So I shut it down and went back to the gardening.

I'm just waiting for the sludge lorry to arrive to empty my cess pit. What a lovely start to the day :heehee:

With a bit of luck this hot weather will get the flowers open ready for the weekend. It looks as though we may have up to a dozen GC people here on Saturday :dbgrtmb:. Lots of sandwiches to make - have to make them for the helpers too.

The lorry has just turned up.

        Have a great day

        Good morning everyone:smile:

My thoughts are with you at the moment Angelina and hope that all is well with you:blue thumb:

Yes Moyra now the summer has arrived I would much rather be outdoors as opposed to being stuck indoors shivering with the cold:biggrin:

I managed to get over to the lottie and planted all my runner bean plants plus the two odd broad beans that i had accidently sown with the runner seed:heehee:My strawberry plants have flowers on them and the first fruits are forming so have given them some chicken pellets and a good watering to help them give us a first good crop :snork:

It sounds like everyone is busy at the moment and it is lovely to see Woo back on here again.Good luck with your op Woo whenever it is:wub2:

        Have a good day everyone:smile:

        Smells gone.:dbgrtmb:

I'll mow the rough areas down the end of the garden today and they should look OK until the weekend. I'll mow the main lawns tomorrow then go and get the marquee and get it set up.

Early Friday morning I'll trim all the lawn edges (about 1,000ft) and try and get that done before the tables and chairs get delivered. We'll then start to set up everything - about 1,000 books and 1,000 plants to be set out. Get all the gear ready for the teas and cakes - including going to the village hall at midnight to get two tea urns, two big teapots, lots of trays etc. I'll also have to make sandwiches for GC members and helpers - about 30 people.

I may not have much time to get on here for a few days.

        Have a great day

        Morning Everyone,

If this weather holds for Shiney's open garden it will be lovely. It is really quite close this morning. Hope everyone is happy in the gardens and on the lotties. Amazing, all that rain and now we could seriously do with some! Now you can believe in a drought. Oh well back to work, have a good day all. :)
