Armandii, that crazy for you is....CRAZY. have you taken these piccies today, they are very advanced.
Loli, the dreaded black spot- I hate it too. But even the great and the good have roses with black spot. I think it's become pretty indigenous to the species. Can't remember it being like this years back?

Hi Jenny, those pics were taken last year as it's still too early here in mild West Cheshire for my roses to bloom. They are budding up nicely but it's probably 2 to 3 weeks before they open.
I''ve also got Uncle Walter [shrub rose], climbing roses Bright Future, Madame Alfred Carriere, White Clouds, White Skyliner, Alchemist, Compassion, Abertine, Francois Juranville, Leverkusen, Veilchenblau, plus Pour Toi, Regenberg, and last but not least Oranges and Lemons which is a orange and yellow version of Crazy for You and I bought it because a very respected member of GC, who's a rose specialist, posted a pic and it was too much for me.:snork:

Sorry Jenny, I haven't got any roses at the moment, but hoping to create a bed for them later in the year. I do miss not having any. :)

Fell for that one alright didn't I ! One has to be sooooo careful how one phrases ones questions. I would have thought, as a seasoned rose grower, you would have known whether your roses have or had black spot....

These are the ones that are taking my interest at the moment as I bought these last Autumn as dry root plants from Style Roses and I've placed them either side of the Arbour along with four Honeysuckle with the aim of getting scent and flowers right up to the ridge of the roof:

I reckon it'll be next season before they reach the roof!!
