    Good morning everyone,

Its another sunny, beautiful day here...no rain for the next few days, so that means lots of watering.

I'm off to Toronto in a bit, thank god for air conditioning in the truck!!

    Have a great day everybody!

Yes Lolli, my butt is nearly empty just enough to go round the veg today. When you get it hot and dry like this is when the word drought really kicks in. Do with some rain overnight would be nice.:hapydancsmil:Have to do a rain dance.

        Good morning everyone,

It is quiet hot again today {77f at 11.33am and rising}but at least we have a little bit if a breeze or else it would be even hotter, not that I am complaining as I do love the sunshine but not when it is blistering heat:biggrin:

Loli,my water is going down fast and i have to keep watering my lilies that are in large pots plus I have a Quamassia that is just coming out in flower and if it doesn't get enough water then the buds dry up so i know what you mean with the water levels going down. The stupid part of it is we are on a hose pipe ban and yet for the last two months water has been leaking out of a soil bank and down into the gutters and it doesn't matter how many times it has been looked at it still is leaking:eeew:

Moyra, I bet Amber is feeling the heat as all the people i know in the village who have dogs with thick fur all say this kind of weather is just not good for them:eeew:

Shiney, looks like you will definetley get a good day tomorrow and hope you raise lots of money for your charity

Penny we are always glad we have air con in the car even though it uses up fuel to use it.It always amazes me when we sit in the cool of the car on a hot day and when we get out the heat outside nearly knocks us over but i do hate nearly ripping my skin off my legs when the leather seats get red hot.:rolleyespink:

Anway, I have been busy out in the garden removing old Honesty plants, legging it over to the lottie at night to water the stuff over there and last night me and Mr Kandy went for our first bike ride of the year which was most pleasant but we ddin't half have sore bums and shoulders when we got back home:oops:

This morning I have given my car a good hoover out washed down all the plastic inside and have washed the rubber mats.Just got to wash it now sometime over the weekend but had better wait until Mr Kandy gets home as it is in a bit of a state on the outside paintwork and I don't want to rub the dust and grit into the glass and paintwork:snork:

Enjoy your day everyone and please mind that sun on the young/old skin:biggrin:

Kandy, yes it is a bit too hot for dogs. I took Amber out first thing this morning but I have dropped her lunchtime walk as I don't think it would be good for her in this heat. Although saying that there is a cool breeze out there fortunately. She'll appreciate her walk tonight more so will I.:doggieshmooze:

Morning Everyone, Poor old Amber didn't really want to know about her walk this morning so we cut it a bit short. Once she carried out her necessaries we turned round and came home the short way. Not looking forward to that drive to Shiney's which is strange really because I used to love driving. Oh well off to have a shower and get ready. Will be nice to meet up with some of the other GCers.:)

Hi all! Thank you for your graceful thoughts of support!
I'm envious of your sunny weather. It's been raining heavily here for three days, which, unluckily, coincided with national holidays, all of them non-working. I snatched just a few hours of gardening and I'm yearning for more!

I hope the shakes will be over soon. It was shocking, because for over a century no seismicity was reported from the area where we live. This was the strongest earthquake in my life, 5.8 by Richter. Hope it remains 'the strongest' here ever.

With the epicentre so close (shifting between 7-15 kilometres from our place), the experience is not merely of physical swaying, shocks or tremors, but it's the sound underneath, which I found most disturbing. It was a deep roar, as if the earth was transformed into a groaning abyss, and we were somehow being kept 'afloat', while the house was shaking and rattling...
I felt about 30 earthquakes, 5 were strong and were felt around the entire country.
No damages to our house and in the vicinity, thank God, but dozens of houses in the nearby villages have become uninhabitable.

I had to share this because I associate THE GARDEN with the warmth and cosiness of 'the earth', as a cradle, as 'the firm ground' under my feet.

              It was a shocking disillusionment...
              I'll live with it. :WINK1:
              -------------------------------
Otherwise, I am the proud owner of two kalmias (k. latifolia 'Galaxy', k. latifolia 'Raspberry Glow') and two hydrangeas:
Hydrangea 'Vanille Fraise' and Hydrangea macrophylla 'Invincible Spirit'. The containers arrived yesterday and I will soon be out to plant them.

Please, enjoy your gardens and your great weather twice as much, for me! :dbgrtmb:

              Dear Angelina,
it is so kind of you to think of us whilst you are in the midst of some very unsettling times - in more ways than one. I do hope peace and calm will now be restored and your weather will turn good again. It is so beautiful here right now, so beautiful,
              take care,
              Jenny

                Good morning everyone,

I've been shopping and tidying some up!

About 5.30 a.m. I'll get out there and continue with sorting things out, change the signs down the road, prepare all the stands ready for opening.

                Have s great day
