Laburnum problem

Hi Everyone
I have a laburnum tree that looks a sorry state, last year it had lovely green leaves and lovely flowers on it but this year the leaves seem yellowy in colour and wrinkled.
Can anyone give me an idea as to whats wrong with it? (Pictures below)

We've gone from a very wet spell to a very dry spell and a lot of plants are suffering from one or the other or both. Therefore I don't think it's diseased. I don't think there is a lot you can do other than hope it revives. If this present spell of dry weather continues I suggest you give the base of the tree a good soaking from time to time.

 

Thanks Sheal, I was hoping it was'nt diseased yep! I'll give a good soak later when the weather cools off a little.

Funny thing is, I was thinking maybe the opposite.
Laburnum is pretty good at surviving drought, but they dont like wet feet.

I was just wondering if during the wet spell it had suffered from water logging?

I've know it to kill them.

 

The Laburnum's here have to put up with a lot of rain Pete, but they seem to be healthy.

Yours went like mine but mine died grew great the 1st year then just faded away, when I dug it up a lot of the roots had rotted I put it down to it was a barerooted tree and a realy wet Autumn then the same in the spring I replaced with a pot grown tree and that has realy done well and only two feet away from were the other one had grown but I incorporated lots of grit and doubled the size of the planting hole and created a mound style but not much higher from the rest of the soil about 4inches , I agree with Pete waterloged over winter older trees can survive better as they are more established , yours doesnt look that old ??plus its still growing which is a good thing.

Yeah I dont doubt that Sheal.
Lots of rain in a well drained spot is not a problem but if standing water should happen for a short while it can kill the roots.
