Clara, Ziggy didn't really need the stick, he actually ran round Shiney's garden five times.
I only took a couple of pics but as Jenny was looking at backsides here Nathan''s with Siggy.

I just forgot to mention...in regards to first time introductions between members of the forum, I found that it works best to say the nickname first, immediately followed by the first name (as opposed to the other way round or even more words).

When the nickname is mentioned it kind of "lights up a bulb" and all of a sudden an anonimous face becomes well known.
(PS that does not apply to ZIGGY which was easily recognizable even the first time I met him!!!:hapydancsmil:)

(You don't see me but I am always watching over you.....:th scifD36:)
Hi Clare...I had the duty of that trip but: recent events and calamities in Italy, my decreasing interest in forum posting, my ageing and a bit of turmoil in my private life, made it quite hard for the trip to happen.
I was very enthusiastic about the idea when I came up with it, but then it all vanished.
I do know now, that it was not a particularly clever idea to mention the trip one year in advance, especially since I ended up organizing nothing really.
I cannot guarantee anything for the future, but I will keep you in my thoughts and you are of course welcome to PM me because it goes straight into my mail which I check several times a day.
I will keep in touch with Jack since he is off to Venezia soon and I said to him you can call me any time during your stay if you cannot make yourself understood because of the language .

As for the rest I am allright and looking forward for my little one starting school the coming year...

My mug has been on here many times so there was no need to guess who I was.

If she could she would have left with a Bolivian one belonging to Mrs Strongy aka Inhouse Advisor/Rosemary.:heehee:

Good to hear from you, Mira. Don't worry about the trip - life is just like that. You can't always do everything you plan to do. :spinning:

How very very dare you Strongy :yikes: , it was you that grabbed it until you realised there was no money in there and put it back. I hope the Rosemary didn't end up footing the bill either :nonofinger:

Can only echo what Newey has already said, great seeing everyone and missed JWK & Mrs this year which was a shame. Folly Mon I :love30: you after only having an hours sleep from work and coming all the way down the motorway, hope you and the good lady G got home ok.

Regarding the video which was put up? I felt it would have been good practice as an administrator to ask if people felt comfortable with it going online first to appreciate people's privacy as some don't wish to be on the internet.
There was an incident on another forum with this sort of thing so i feel it better to ask in future.

Well as usual I'm late on the scene but I've been uploading 80 pics of the Great Day to ShineyLand to Photobucket and then resizing before sorting out which to post
                    .
I think GCQ has a point to a degree, but, to be honest, we all went quite openly to Shineyland knowing that there would be cameras around, including mine, with people taking pics quite freely and there would be a good chance of pics appearing on GC. And since the pics/video would be posted in the good spirit and sheer bon homie that is typical of GC I would find it difficult to censor any pics posted, well, apart from the ones of me that is!!! Since I was the only one there who deserved to have a bag over their head I hope I will be forgiven in posting these pics:

But first, if I may, I would like to thank Mr and Mrs Shiney for allowing us to enter Shineyland without a visa. For those who weren't able to go I can't describe fully the amount of effort, hard work and organisation that went into creating the perfect day for everyone who arrived. There was a plant stall [with some mighty fine plants], a book stall, jewellery shop, drinks aplenty, cakes, biscuits, Spanish dancing [Ziggy and I wanted to show off with our Clog dance but Shiney dragged us off stage:scratch::dunno: ]....but most of all a welcoming atmosphere you could feel as you stepped onto the driveway leading to Shineyland. Shiney gave us all a conducted tour of Shineyland and then at the end of it held out his hat.....and has now the finest collection of buttons you will ever see.:snork:
The weather was perfect and the occasion got better and better with the arrival of more GC members, visitors, supporters of the Charity and those looking for a bargain.
Shiney did stress that he couldn't have done it all without the support and help of his many friends, and all I can say is that he is a lucky man to have such friends. So once again, THANK YOU, MR AND MRS SHINEY for a really great day, and we are all looking forward to the next one!!

Right, here's the pics I took throughout the day and again I apologise to anyone who may think their privacy has been disturbed or invaded. Because the system only allows 20 pics per post there will be around 3 consecutive pic posts.

These are the attention getters that Shiney put outside of the road to let us all know where to park........if you could find a space!!!

Shiney, who wanted to do a bit of Spanish dancing but the girls turned him down, introducing the dancing. Their dancing was terrific and you just had to watch!!

Shiney kindly gave me a second tour as I had got waylaid with the "Crazy Gang" during the first tour. So this is Shineyland through my eyes, so to speak!!

Actually the pics don't do justice to the garden by any means. There is such a variety of plants, textures, shapes, scents, colours, and heights within the borders and garden that you have to see to get the proper idea of the garden. One thing that is there throughout the garden is a sense of tranquillity, a quality that some gardens never have. Thank you once again Shiney and Mrs Shiney for a great couple of days.
