Thanks folks. Not a great one for celebrating my birthday, too near Christmas I suppose.
Anyway I had an operation on my foot on Thursday (New Years Eve of all times). This was to fuse the joint in my arthritic big toe to stop it crumbling away. Too many years of kicking footballs and the occasional little boy, as an ex Primary school teacher. So, now I am off my feet for 6 weeks or until the bone sets. Fun, crutching about with a special shoe on my foot to keep it still.
As I am the only driver we have had to stockpile supplies as the nearest shop is a 20 mile drive away and the 'bus stop is a 2 mile walk down the lane and then back with shopping. Typical though that today is sunny and crisp and perfect walking weather.
