What's looking exotic in May 2012

    They were the seeds kindly donated by yourself!!!
    Best make space for all of them then until I know what colours they are.............

    I had forgotten that LongK :biggrin: - the seeds I sent you were surplus from the Chilterns packet - rather than ones that I had collected myself. So there may well be both white and blue in there.

    Jenny - yes its a member of the potato family (Solanaceae) along with Brugmansia, Datura, Tomato, sweet peppers and chilli peppers etc. They all contain alkaloids which makes quite a few members poisonous. The same chemicals can also be hallucinogenic, and you get this in Brumansia, Datura and Iochrome. :hapydancsmil: That's mister happy - if you didn't know. How do you think a grumpy old man remains so cheerful. :gaah:

    Just a warning - the above three are also poisonous - so beware - your first trip could be a very long one.:th scifD36:

      Space for twelve Iochroma now cleared!!

      The Sutherlandia is now bursting back into bloom after being sunk into the main bed.

      It had a bit of asulk on after being moved outdoors after the house move.

        That Sutherlandia is lovely. I only got mine to flower well by keeping it in the greenhouse. The seed pods are fun too.

        The pods are certainly half the attraction - something of interest after the blooms have stopped..............
