All came in a little while ago Woo.....the kids were quite intrigued with the detail and what appeared to be 'cracks like on china' haha. Had a lovely night out with hot chocolate, the chimnea going, the binoculars and the telescope - I love to see the kids interested in the world around us. They enjoyed your photo too :)

Certainly is Mars, WOO, closest it's going to get to Earth for quite a few years to come, so keep your camera clicking.

That's Mars for sure Woo - fantastic to get it together with the moon!

A nice clear sky here tonight, though to be honest the moon didn't look significantly larger than usual. This one was taken about 7.30pm.

Oh they are wonderful, I am so jealous! I had to leave my scope and binos down in Cornwall when I moved, Mum currently has them stored away for me. I really missed getting out and seeing Saturn this winter, there have been some beautiful clear sky's here thanks to the bitter cold we've had.

Have you tried turning your hand (or rather, 'scope) to things like Star clusters and Nebulae? I imagine you'd do quite well if you could spare the time for the long exposure times!
