In our neighbourhood, there is a weird chap. He regularly stands in his garden, not actually doing anything, just standing there for minutes at a time, possibly in deep contemplation.

At least its not the same spot every time. Sometimes he stand in one spot and ponder for a few minutes, then walk to a different spot and then stand there for a bit. Sometimes he'll stare intently at the floor, as if looking for something.

Is he a weirdo? He has a beard.

In his defence, he does sometimes actually do some gardening out there, and over the last 2 years I've seen his garden go from an absolute awful eyesore, to something that is starting to resemble a nice garden.

My father-in-law used to do the same thing, he'd say "just popping out for some air".
The truth is he'd gone outside to break wind.

So there's your answer Clueless. :heehee:

There was a bloke in Sherbourne who used to wait in his front garden for the kids to come out of school.

Every time a kid walked past he'd bang a shovel against the wall.

He also used to draw chalk circles around dog poo on the pavement.

I'm surprised nobody has yet clicked. The chap I was referring to is in fact me:)

While out there on one of my pondering sessions, it suddenly dawned on me, that if I was one of those sorts that see the garden as just the bit of dead space next to the house, and I saw a chap just standing in his garden, I might think he was weird. Therefore it follows that I must be the weird neighbour:loll:

I often stand in the garden & stare- thinking "where do I start?"
