Mines are now about 3ft tall and beginning to flower. Should I trim off the early flowers to encourage more?

What`s the best feed for them? When I potted them up, they were put in good quality compost (from the Royal Botanical gardens no less :)) and about 1/5 of farmyard manure. This was 3 weeks ago and believe they like LOTS of feeding. What say ye good people of GC?

You need to remove "dead heads" before they set seed, otherwise the plant will stall and stop flowering.

They need Potash to assist with flowering (the N-P-K ratio on the box needs to have a relatively larger "K" figure to the "N" and "P" ones), so a Tomato fertiliser would do fine. (If you don't have one on the shelf then do not buy a posh Brand, they are horribly over priced, just get a Brand-X one from Wilco's or similar [but maybe check how many "gallons" they make, as I dare say some will be cheap because they are more dilute and will only make half as much feed])

Are you growing them as a 'single stem' or letting them go wild?

      Cheers, Tony.

Just letting them go wild up a trellis Tony. They`ll mix in with a couple of Clematis.
