clematis

    will clematis survive this cold snap, and ,what could i do to make sure it survives

    Clematis are pretty hardy, you could put thick mulch over the roots if you think the frost will go deep.

    I think they are pretty hardy Cymro. I just had a quick Google and found Americans talking of large flowered ones that were hardy in zone 2 and zone 3. Zone 2 goes down to -40C!

    If in doubt, plant them as deeply as possible and as Sparky says give them a thick mulch.

    I find clematis to be pretty hardy, you should be fine :)
