i'd be v grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction on what I have growing here! It has silvery leaves and seems to be evergreen. Not sure if a large shrub, a small tree or going to be a big tree. Sorry if it's obvious, but noone I've asked has a clue. Thanks, steven

Steven, It Looks like Cytisus Battandieri, the Pineapple Broom. It is a large shrub/small tree and is evergreen. The yellow flowers are attractive when set off by the silvery grey leaves.:)

It's the pineapple broom...Cytissus battandeiri.. A large shrub... not a huge tree, it should have lovely yellow flowers in Summer.

They are a wee bit tender, but you should be fine in London, and it looks like it's in a sheltered spot.

They can get a bit stragley... so you might need to lightly prune it .just to keep a good shape.

I had a Cytisus Battandieri in my Moroccan garden at Chelsea, just visible in the left background. Many people talked to me about it and as Quercus says, it should be okay in a sheltered London garden.
