I do, but I can't picture the shovel. Is it a long handled one with a D shaped blade?

it's a long T handle One with a square blade more like a spade than a true shovel I think it has a swan neck but don't quote me on that

I bought a spade handle from a country fair a while ago. It had been steamed into a swan neck towards the business end, after I bought it the chap asked me If I knew what I had bought? He told me it was the handle for a stoker's shovel. The idea of the swan neck was so the stocker didn't scrape his knuckles on the boilerhouse floor while lifting the last of the coal!

It has gone now I'm afraid, but I'm still on the lookout for another.

    Cheers, Tony.
