I have now realised as all about me have paved gardens ( car parks as I call them)the slugs have decided my GARDEN is the only place to dine,I hate slug pellets (wildlife) but being forced to use them sparingly, went to bid neighbour goodbye and 1 lily had 8 slugs and snails on the flower ,salted them well !!.Considered beer traps but cannot bear the thought of a container of slime or do they just drown ?? What other tried and tested methods out there.

I've tried various methods ... the blue slug/snail pellets work best, but you need to use it continually

Good morning Pamsdish I to am battling this year with giant slugs and snails, never seen so many,as I am an organic gardener and have 3 furry friends I cannot use any pellets etc my way is to go out early morning and collect most of them I find and then dispose of them,it usually takes me about 30 minutes:)

as far as I understand, the Nematodes should be used in mid february, before the slugs surface .... they are now above ground, so the nematodes will not be effective

        I may be wrong?

I also try and grow organically, however, sadly, there comes a time when one has to use slug pellets, especially when the plants cost £6+ each and are getting chomped to ground level

Yep, drink em selves to death in minutes. A lot better than having to deal with a salted slimey mess.

I'll take a pic after pop master.
