Bought some of those plastic hanging baskets with gates ,http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B004UZQKIW/ref=dp_image_z_0?ie=UTF8&n=11052671&s=outdoors as my baskets were thrown together this year !!!
So bought 24 perennial petunias and with the bits cannibilised out of the baskets going already hope for a nice display ,I know its late but !!!.
So thinking as not cheap-cheap I would be happier if I could secure them to supports ,suitcase locks ?? loads of them even some cheap ones we never used.
Will have a reccy while getting the latest bags of compost out of car.:snork:

My mother in law has these baskets, be careful they are very heavy when full and wet. She has had to replace some of the brackets she had as they were small and were bending under the weight. Once sorted though the display she has now is brill, she got hers off one of the shopping channels and is keeping an eye when there on special offer for me I think they were £18 delivered.

Those baskets look great for organizing and hanging flowers! I love the look of pretty petals spilling all over. Do the baskets come in black, too?

When you see them on tv the plant plugs are very large and fill the hole, mine were small and took some fiddling not to lose much compost through the gap

I did not know that you could buy perennial petunias. I am going in more these days for perennial planting, rather than fillings tubs and containers with bedding plants, I love the look but I no longer have the time, or in fact the inclination since I moved to this house 18 months ago. I have had my gardening experience somewhat spoiled as I could work happily in my last house inside and out, knowing there were bound to be spiders around but never seeing any (I have a big phobia which interferes with my day to day life to the extent that I see it now as a disability), since moving to this house, there are spider webs everywhere on the outside of the walls, fortunately, I hardly see any indoors, but the walls are covered in webs so I don't open my windows now except in the winter when it's really cold. I don't expect there will be many on here who will know what such a phobia is like, but it's for this reason, that I no longer to annual baskets and tubs. I would like a list of perennials that I could plant up instead and which would look good summer or winter.
