I have been wearing some knee pads for a couple of hours (not for gardening sadly)
My question is do you have any, and like my Tommyco ones, do they make you sweat alot (knee area) although I also admit very comfy when they stay still.

I don't wear them personally but Mr Lolimac has said the exact same thing when he wears them....must be a sweaty knee thing:dunno:

One of my all time best buys !! a pair of industrial foam kneepads from a CarBoot - 50p ... No problems with sweaty knees, just pure comfort, and my gardening trews last that bit longer.

Still got the pair I had when I worked in the coal mines. I don't use them very often but they are great when doing protracted work on wet or hard surfaces.
Mine are double layered and ventilated so no prob with over heating.

You could always opt for one of those cushion blocks instead; that should cut down on sweat. I think it's important to protect your knees when gardening in some way, shape or form.

I use knee pads when working in the house , they do get a bit hot. For the garden I have a kneeling stool , this also helps you to get up as well !

Yes, I agree, without the kneeling stool I would never get back up. Also knee pads never seem to stay on the knee, but I have gardener friend who has overalls with built in knee pads which he says work very well - he is a lot younger than me!

I have seen trousers with pockets for knee pads, not really suitable for me though

To add (He says as he puts his knee pads on again) when I was younger I could not see the point of knee pads, now I am older I seem to wear them a lot (I need to crawl round a lot just lately)
No, just a lot of things to do to clear the loft
