New guy

    Hi, found the forums by pure accident.
    I moved into a house a year ago and the old lady that had it did so for 50 years, i don't think she touched the garden for approximately the same time period!
    I have dug out an old cotoneaster hedge (2 weeks it took), a large conifer and some Forsythia. The garden is south facing, but we have clay for soil. I dug down about 2 feet in the new shrub beds I created and filled it with really good compost, unfortunately it hasn't stopped raining and I now have what can only be described as compost soup.
    Anyway, i googled horticultural grit and found this place. the grit is now in place fingers crossed it helps as i can't plant up :(

                Yep! I've been accepting members for the last 20 years. Unfortunately, they won't pay any subscription :mad: so there's no membership charge.

                As a member, you're entitled to be grumpy whenever and as often as you like. If anyone complains about your grumpiness you're entitled to be rude (but no swearing) to them and tell them you're a fully paid up member.

                You'll need to practice a grumpy look and increasing your vocabulary helps as it allows you to be vey rude and caustic whilst sounding quite erudite.
