Olympics opening ceremony show

The thing is, James, that the modern Olympic Games were the brainchild of a Frenchman. So the official language of the games is French.

 

I'm a bit gutted now. It seems I've missed most of the good bit. Foolishly, I figured its on for hours, I have time to go in the tub. When I left the room there was still lots of funky dancing going on, when I came back it was just the boring bit with all the different nations parading out.

 

And perfectly logical too, being called the Olympic games, after Olympia in Ancient Greece

 

I didn't know that!

I've never heard of some of these countries.........

 

I thought the opening ceremony was brilliant. Made me forget about the olympics for a while. Now it's just boring.

 

They need one of those moving walkways like they have at Gatwick. You could speed it up to get through those little islands no one's ever heard of a bit quicker.

Or they could just get stewardesses from a certain budget airline to sort it. I jest not, I once took a flight and people were rushed onto the plane having been told our take-off window closes in 5 minutes, and people were still getting into their seats while the plane was accelerating down the runway to take off, with the stewardesses trying to do the mandatory safety show while people were brushing past We were airborne within about 15 minutes of being called to the gate. If you had that at the olympics, it would be all done and dusted by now.
