Yup, they are planters, although, they might be mistaken for being boots worn by SWMBO

 

Is that a pond on the right? where did the shed go? the transformation makes the length of your garden seem endless our side of the house is a wind tunnel so i cant do much with it,soo jealous xx

That old shed was used as a wood/coal store. Thing is, it was falling apart and we needed the space, so we binned it.

Thanks for your responses, much appreciated I'm quite looking forward to next year, when the Rhododendrons are in flower. This area should suit them, as it's pretty shaded for most of the day. I must say, that I'm very pleased with how it's turned out.
