    Hello everyone,

This is my very first post!

I need to buy a very good quality spade for my bosses retirement. He is a very keen gardener, particularly vegetables. The idea is that I would like to get it ingraved for him. Does anyone have any advice as to which make of spade would be best for this.

    Many thanks

    Flower Girl.

    Hi and welcome to GC.

I've bust loads of cheaper spades over the last few years. Then I spent about £25 (a lot for me for a spade) on a Wilkinson Sword one. What a difference. I haven't even bent it yet, never mind snapped it. They come with a 10 year garauntee on them too.

I can't be working hard enough then. Must work harder. Actually when I think about it I'm fairly sure it says that somewhere in one of my old school reports:)

Does your boss have a bad back? These spades are amazing; they do half the work for you. I think they are called 'Autospade' I believe that you get them through the gardening catalogues that pour through the letterbox at this time of the year.
