Grasses?

Last year I bought some grasses for the front garden(first photo), this year these grasses have grown in their place(second photo)...
Are they weeds?

1. Possibly Luzula sylvatica aurea.

2. Yes... a weed!
Maybe Juncus effusus or similar. A soft rush.

Depends on your definition of weed ,I grow rushes in my garden ,I love my corkscrew grass

 

I love that one as well. Juncus effusus spiral.
But draw the line on the plain one, which is invasive and hard to get rid of.
With very strong roots when I try to pull it up.

Got a "Japanese Horsetail" ,that seems to be a little on the invasive side

 

I think the first one is a hakonechloa- japenese hakon grass
